William “Bill” Ottoshavett, 70, of Jensen Beach, Florida died on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his home.

He was the husband of Mary Maher Ottoshavett.

Mr. Ottoshavett was born in Danbury, February 11, 1938 son of John and Clara (Piskura) Ottoshavett.  He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School and went on to be employed by Rizzo Electric as an electrician.  Mr. Ottoshavett was recognized as a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) Local 488. 

A resident of Jensen Beach for the past 14 years, Bill was an active member and past treasurer of Moose Lodge #1690 and also a member of the V.F. W. Men’s Auxiliary.

In addition to his wife Mary of 27 years, Bill is survived by a sister; Christine Sherwood of Brentwood, CA, two brothers; Joseph Ottoshavett and his wife Kathy of Brookfield and John Ottoshavett and his wife Laura Krisko of Danbury, his stepchildren; Anthony Maher and his wife Renate and Thomas Maher all of Danbury, Theresa Maher of Jensen Beach, FL and Cindy McDonough and her husband David of New Fairfield, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his first wife Barbara and stepson Frederick J. Maher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (tomorrow) at 10:30AM in St. Peter Church, Danbury.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday from 8:30AM to 9:45AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1690, 3352 N.E.  East Court, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
