Phyllis (Laise) Zacarolli

Phyllis (Laise) Zacarolli, 71, of Danbury, wife of Joseph Zacarolli, died on Thursday evening, November 19, 2009 at the Danbury Hospital.
Mrs. Zacarolli was born in Harrison, NY, December 29, 1937, a daughter of Orlando and Alice (Piaciatelli) Laise.  Raised in Mamaroneck, NY, she attended Mamaroneck schools and married in 1958.
A Danbury resident for the past 40 years coming from Mamaroneck, Mr. and Mrs. Zacarolli were foster parents for many years.  During those years, Phyllis and Joe tended to the needs of fifty-three foster children. She was an avid bowler playing in league bowling at the former Bowlarama.
She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury.
In addition to her husband of fifty years, Mrs. Zacarolli is survived by two sons, Joseph Zacarolli, Jr. and Terrence (Grace) Zacarolli both of Venice, FL; a daughter, Karen (Eli) Khoury of Danbury; three foster children, Angie Zacarolli of Texas, Michelle Fields and Damon Hine both of Danbury; a brother, Orlando Laise, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Shirley Coyle of Venice, FL; six grandchildren, Anthony, Marissa, Gabriella, Zachary, Victoria, Joseph III and Rachel as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zacarolli was predeceased by two sons, Thomas Zacarolli and James Zacarolli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 24th at 10am in St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday from 4pm to 8pm.
