Rosemary V. Porter-Skelding, 83, of  the Greens,Danbury, CT, formerly of Coxsackie, NY, died on Saturday evening, September 5, 2009 at Danbury Hospital.
Mrs. Porter-Skelding was the wife of the late Albert Porter and Warren Skelding.
Rosemary  was born the Bronx,  May 19, 1926, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Lennon) Dunn.  She attended Bronx schools.  In 1958, she was employed by the A&P Company where she was a manager of their health and beauty aid department at their Yorktown, NY store.  Mrs. Porter-Skelding retired in 1992.
She was a former member and daily communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Coxsackie, NY.
Mrs. Porter-Skelding is survived by a son, Robert (Virginia) Porter of Myrtle Beach, SC; four daughters, Carol (Roger) Bianco of Fairfield, NJ, Catherine Bizzaro of Jefferson Valley, NY, Joan (Robert) Swalagin-Porper of Danbury, CT and Judith Nolan of New Fairfield, CT; a sister, Catherine O’Connor of Nyack, NY, ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Porter-Skelding was predeceased by a son, William Porter; granddaughter, Tiffany Nolan and sister Helen Bundrick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10th at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church, 55 Catoonah St., Ridgefield, CT.
Burial will follow in Shrub Oak Cemetery, Shrub Oak, NY.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield, CT on Wednesday from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM.
