Joan Ann Sheridan

Joan Ann Sheridan, 76, of  Ridgefield, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the home of her daughter Catherine Sheridan in Chicago, Ill.
She was the wife of the late James A. Sheridan.
Mrs. Sheridan was born in Brooklyn, NY, September 1, 1932, a daughter of William and Anne (Clinton) Trutt.
She was educated at Fontbonne Hall Academy, Brooklyn, NY, St. Mary’s School of Nursing, St. John’s University and the University of Connecticut where she received her undergraduate degree in English.  Joan also went on to receive a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Mrs. Sheridan worked for many years as a Registered Nurse.
Active in St. Mary’s Parish, Ridgefield, she formed the widow and widowers after the death of her husband.
She was an avid ballroom dancer.
Mrs. Sheridan is survived by her five children and spouses, Catherine Sheridan (Jack Hanlon) of Chicago, IL, Susan (James) Tucker of Minneapolis, MN, James A. (Amy) Sheridan of Hudson, OH, Ian William (Lynn) Sheridan of Amhurst, MA and Joan Marie (Scott) Friedrichs of Old Town Alexandria, VA; a brother, William (Vera) Trutt of Fairfield, CT and ten grandchildren, Catherine Hanlon, Marion and Michaela Tucker, Reilly and Marin Sheridan, Korleen, Conner and Cullen Sheridan and Caroline and Sarah Friedrichs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday from 5pm to 8pm.
