York, on September 23, 1921, to Alfonzo and Michelina (Stellato) Pozzouli.
Janette was married to William Free for 42 years until he passed in 1992.

and Mary; three brothers, (Guy)Dan, Nicholas and Christian.

Survivors include two sisters, Genevieve Merriam of Ticonderoga, NY, and Bridget
Fitzsimmons of Au Sable Forks, NY; and many nieces and nephews.  Janette was
blessed and loved by 72 nieces and nephews, and was known to most as "Great Aunt Janette".

Janette retired from Western Union after more than 30 years of service.  She
volunteered and donated her time to numerous organizations, such as the Red Cross Seniors.  Janette was admired for her talent, entertaining people with her dancing and great sense of humor in her home town of Ridgefield, as well as at her summer lake house at Fern Lake (Au Sable Forks, NY in the Adirondack Mountains).

Janette was a daily communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  She was a faithfilled member of the Lord's family.

A true American patriot, Janette, enjoyed giving both her time and money to Veterans.  She was a frequent speaker at elementary schools in the Ridgefield area, where she shared letters from American soldiers, who responded to her letters to them, most of whom she did not know personally.

Janette was a lover of learning, travel and living life to the fullest.  She will truly be missed by family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.
