James A. Fransen, 56, of Shelton, formerly of Ridgefield, died on Monday morning, August 24, 2009 at Norwalk Hospital.
Mr. Fransen was born in Stamford, May 21, 1953, a son of the late Harold and Rita (St. Lawrence) Fransen. He attended Stamford schools, graduated from Stamford Catholic High School-Class of 1971, attended Norwalk Community College, graduated from Central Connecticut State University and attained an MBA from Albertus Magnus College.
He was employed with Davis & Geck, Casco, Cadbury & Schweppes and the Norwalk Hospital Foundation.
Jim’s passions included his family, church and sports.  He was the consummate coach whether instructing children to play Little League Baseball, basketball or ice hockey.
He held the position of District Administrator for the CT District #1 Little League for 6 years from 1991 – 1997, he then was the Assistant District Administrator from 1998 - present and also coached Little League for over twenty-five years. 
A resident of Ridgefield from 1986 until moving to Shelton in 2002.
He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Seton Parish of Ridgefield and served as its business manager for over 20 years.
Surviving are two sons, Jason Fransen and Jeffrey Fransen; a brother, Bob Fransen and two aunts, Norma Conrad and Patricia Scalice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield.
Burial will take place in the Old St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain, CT at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Elizabeth Seton Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
