Barbara A. Stokes

Barbara A. Stokes, 54, daughter of S. Chris (Hansen) Stokes of Danbury and the late Norman Stokes, sadly passed away February 11, 2019. Born in Danbury on February 18, 1964, Barbie was loved by all that knew her and would bring smiles to everyone she met. She had a great love of music; especially Elvis. In addition to her mother, Barbie is survived by her sisters, Rose Ann Bolin of Tulsa, OK, Patty Betz of Danbury and Cindy Higley of Myrtle Beach, SC. You want to see Barbie laugh..just have her brother in law or nephew appear, Ed Higley or Nick. They were very special to Barbie. She is also survived by her nieces, Krissy Nowak and her children Derrick, James and Hunter, Sarah Truelove (fiancée Chris Hall) and her children, Julia and Tristen Truelove all of Myrtle Beach, SC. In addition to her father Norman, Barbie was predeceased by her brother John Stokes. Relatives and friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2 pm to 5 pm with a Prayer Service at 4:30 pm offered by Deacon William D. Murphy of St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Interment will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury at the direction of the family. Memorial contributions in Barbie’s memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis or United Cerebral Palsy organizations. Our angel now has wings….
