Jennifer “Jen” Shukry

Jennifer “Jen” Shukry, 87, of Danbury, wife of the late George N. Shukry, died on Monday, September 24, 2018.

Mrs. Shukry was born July 18, 1931, a daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy (Romano) Mangiacotti. She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School.

Mrs. Shukry was employed with the Barden Corporation for twenty years in the personnel department. Prior to her employment with the Barden Corporation, she was employed at the former Danbury Genung’s Department Store which later became Howlands. After her employment with Barden’s, Mrs. Shukry was employed at the Burlington Coat Factory Store of Danbury.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Danbury as well as attended St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with her late husband George.

Mrs. Shukry is survived by two sisters, Angie Storoni and her husband Dino of Danbury and Antoinette Taylor of Melbourne, FL; a niece, Diane Storoni and four nephews, David Storoni, Jeffrey Taylor, Christopher Taylor and Matthew Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Danbury.

Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

There will be no calling hours.
