Frederick F. Mancuso

Frederick F. Mancuso, 96, of Bethel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Valerie (Marino) Mancuso.

Fred was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 23rd, 1922; a son of the late Frank and Rafaela Mancuso. He served in the US Army during World War II and received a Certificate of Appreciation for War Service. He later was the proprietor of "The Corner Liquor Store" and a volunteer fireman in Stamford, CT.

A Bethel resident since 1966; Fred enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing cards. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church of Bethel and a 4th Degree life-time member of the Knights of Columbus, The Order of the Alhambra and an official member of The American Legion

Fred is survived by his wife of 72 years, Valerie as well as their children: Francine Abdoo and her husband George, Frank Mancuso, and Winifred Bainor and her husband, Joe. Fred is also survived by his grandchildren: Chris, Melissa, Jeffrey, Matthew, Meghan, Mark, Tina, Anthony and Michelina, his great-grandchildren: Danielle, Elizabeth, Grace, Makenzie, and Luke, as well as his sister Rosie Ginter, brother Joe Pasquerilli, and his nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 23rd, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury, CT. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bethel Police Department, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department, the Bethel Visiting Nurse Association, and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs all of whom provided exceptional care and service to the family.

Fred's family is eternally grateful for the exceptional care and support they received from Rosanne, Patty, Denise, and Michelle, the home caregivers, Bethel Visiting Nurse Association and hospice.
