Michele E. Harris

Michele the BeautyMichele Elaine Harris was born February 20, 1966 in Durham, North Carolina. She passed away Sunday, July 22, 2019 at Danbury Hospital.

Michele is the daughter of the late Thomas and Delores (Dozier) Harris. She lived in North Carolina with her grandparents until the age of three and relocated to Danbury with her family. She also spent time in New York with her father and brothers and lived briefly in Columbia, MD, but Danbury was her home for nearly fifty years.

Michele started her family in 1986 with the birth of TiAra F. Harris and was a loving and doting mother. She met the love of her life, Edward James Sullivan and developed a relationship that would stand the test of time, even in the toughest situations. Together they brought Tory James Sullivan into the world on July 3, 1997.

Michele worked as a home health aide for many years and worked for Ability Beyond and Marrakesh Inc. She was affiliated with Gospel Light Apostolic Church of Danbury. She enjoyed travel, and most especially the time shared with her family. Her grandson CJ brought a special light to her life.

Michele was preceded in death by two of her brothers Tyrone Harris and Thomas Harris, and her parents Thomas and Delores Harris.

Michele is survived by her fiancé and life partner Edward James Sullivan, daughter, TiAra Harris and son, Tory Sullivan both of Danbury; a sister, Angela R. Moses (Alfred) of Silver Spring, Maryland, a brother Karl Dozier of New York, and a grandson, Curtis R. Torres Jr. Also, her cousin Jacqueline Little. Michele also cherished her relationship with her extended family, Gladys Woods (Lemuel (deceased)) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kelly Stewart (Rafeeq), of Atlanta, GA, Kyeshia Cosby (Kevin), and Kyle Woods (Brigette) of Raleigh, North Carolina and their families. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly. Home Going Services will take place on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church, 10 Dr. Aaron Samuels Blvd., Danbury.

Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends at the New Hope Baptist Church on Friday from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
