Jerry Goldberg

Gerald “Jerry” Goldberg, 85, of Brookfield, CT, husband of Sheila (Weiss) Goldberg, passed away on Monday morning, April 15, 2019 at Danbury Hospital after a short illness.

Jerry was born April 17, 1933, to Jacques and Celia (Feldman) Goldberg in Boston. He was raised with his family in Cedarhurst, NY and graduated from Hofstra University.  He served in the US Army in Nancy, France and was honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant.

He was a Brookfield area resident for the past twenty two years after previously living in Oceanside, NY and Smithtown, NY.  He was a member of the United Jewish Center of Danbury.

He enjoyed racquetball, woodworking, and the time he spent with his family and friends, most especially his grandchildren.  He enjoyed nothing more than to take on major home improvement projects or to use his woodworking skills to build a cradle for his newborn grandchildren.  He was also a devout fan of his beloved Boston Red Sox.

He will be sorely missed.

In addition to his wife Sheila, Jerry is survived by two sons, Michael Goldberg and his wife, Marlene Krumholz, of Somers, NY; Steven Goldberg and his wife, Arlene Correa, of South Orange, NJ and four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jack, Sarah, and Benjamin.
