Robert L. Burns

Robert L. Burns, 94, of Wilton, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 27, 2019.

Robert was born in Yonkers, NY on June 6, 1924; a son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Lamont) Burns.

Robert served in the US Navy during World War II. He later worked as a Police Officer; Insurance Representative and established his own sign making business. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and reading as well as hunting, dancing and travelling.  

A resident of Wilton for the past 42 years, Robert was a member of Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Caterson) Burns; two sons, Lawrence Burns and his wife, Linda and Robert Burns and his wife, Deborah as well as 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition, Robert is survived by three step children; Scott St. Louis and his wife, Ellen; Mark St. Louis and his wife, Angela and Stephanie Raddatz and her husband, Will. 

In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Madeline and his brothers, Lawrence and Edward. 

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church; 470 Danbury Road, Wilton. Interment with US Military Honors will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery; White Plains, NY.
