Robert S. Zarbock

Robert S. Zarbock, 82, a six year resident of Danbury coming from Miami, FL, died on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at St. John Paul II Center for Health Care, Danbury.

He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Barth) Zarbock.

Mr. Zarbock was born in Centralia, Illinois, February 4, 1935, a son of Robert E. and Eloise (Slager) Zarbock.

“Lyn” resided in many parts of the United States and foreign countries as his father was a former vice-president of the Reynolds Corporation International which produced Reynolds Wrap.

Mr. Zarbock attended schools in Illinois and then resided in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he graduated from high school. He attended Texas A&M University and at the outbreak of the Korean War, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He served with the Marine Corps from 1954 until 1963.

A mechanical engineer and inventory control supervisor, he was employed by Washington Inventory Taker and later Precision Valve based in Yonkers, NY.

He was an avid reader.

Mr. Zarbock is survived by a son Robert E. Zarbock and his wife Rejane of Danbury; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Zarbock of Jaspar, Georgia; a brother, William L. Zarbock of Pittstown, New Jersey and by three grandchildren, Victoria E. Zarbock, Christopher Rangel and Kevin Murphy; two nephews, William and Douglas Zarbock and a niece Kristen Zarbock.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 7:30 pm in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury with Rev. Carolyn Legg officiating.

Burial will take place in Green Lawn Park South Cemetery, Miami, Florida.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Thursday after 5 pm.
