Arthur Radun

Arthur Radun, 95, of Newtown, husband of seventy-two years to Irene (Soltes) Radun, died on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Radun was born in Little Falls, NY, April 13, 1922, a son of Sigmund and Wilhelmina (Semrow) Radun. He attended NY state schools and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.

An auto mechanic and repairman with the former Danbury Ford Motor Company, Mr. Radun established Art’s Auto Body, Federal Road, Danbury which he owned and operated for many years and maintained a slogan,” If she is shabby and falling apart call Art...Art’s Auto Body and Repair-Danbury”

A member of the musical group, Rhythm Rangers, Mr. Radun was an accomplished accordion player.

Known to be a “Mr. Fix-It” there was very little Art would not be able to fix. From the building of their home to reupholstering a sofa or chair and everything in between, Art was able to do accomplish it.

Being very artistic, he enjoyed painting with water colors and oils and exhibiting his accomplished culinary skills.

He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of Danbury and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his wife Irene, Mr. Radun is survived by a sister Eleanor Koester of South Bend, Indiana; a sister in law, Elsie Palmieri of Danbury and several nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his cat Dusty also known as “Fritzy”

In addition to his parents, Mr. Radun was predeceased by a brother Otto Radun.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, Danbury.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Wednesday from 8:30 am to 9:15 am.
