James Montesi Jr.

James Montesi, Jr., 80, of Danbury, formerly of New Fairfield, husband of the late Mary (Rockwell) Montesi, died on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Montesi was born in Danbury, July 28, 1937, son of James and Bertha (Ploncon) Montesi. He attended Danbury schools and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1954 to 1958.

Mr. Montesi was the proprietor of Montesi Window Cleaning.

He was a lifelong area resident having resided in New Fairfield and in Danbury.

An avid reader, Mr. Montesi enjoyed studying the history of World War II. He was a member of the New Fairfield Historical Society and the Friends of the New Fairfield Library.

He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Montesi and her husband Nathaniel Fairfield of Danbury and Emily Braun and her husband Gregg of Brookhaven, NY; a son, Raymond Montesi of Brewster, NY; two step daughters, Lorraine Kadar of Naugatuck, CT and Elizabeth Kadar of Pittsfield, MA; two sisters, Joan Wixon and her husband George of Danbury and Gloria Sequra of Florida; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Montesi was predeceased by a son, James J. Montesi and step daughter, Michelle Kadar.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10 am in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury with Rev. Dr. Joseph Krasinski of St. James’ Episcopal Church, Danbury officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery; New Fairfield.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 8:45 am to 9:45am.
