Sylvia Grossman Goldberg

Sylvia GoldbergSylvia (Grossman) Goldberg, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on October 29, one day after her 102nd birthday. Born in New York City to Augusta (Gussie) and Isadore Grossman, she resided in Danbury CT for the last 25 years. She was the beloved wife of Jack Goldberg, who predeceased her in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Katz), and her husband, Ira; and her son, Jeffrey Goldberg, and his partner, Linn Steward ; grandchildren Melissa Katz and Jason Katz; great-grandchildren Carly and Lindsay Snellgrove; and many nieces and nephews. She had a long and successful career as a manager at Belding Hausman, Inc., manufacturer of textile products. She loved people, and people loved her; she was the “social coordinator” for her family and friends. She was an expert NY Times puzzle solver, and a great Scrabble player. She will be remembered warmly by the many people who loved and admired her. Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2017, 12:30 PM, at the United Jewish Center Cemetery, 250 Gray’s Bridge Road, Brookfield, CT with Rabbi Jon Haddon officiating. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
