Daneller D. Curtis

Daneller (Davis) Curtis, 93, of Danbury, wife of the late William Curtis, Sr., died on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Curtis was born on July 24, 1923, in Keiser, Arkansas to Eddie and Minnie (Henley) Davis.  She relocated to Danbury, CT from Arkansas in March of 1945, at the age of twenty-two and married William Curtis, Sr. on June 30, 1945.

Daneller Curtis was a dedicated wife and mother who loved to cook, to be fashionably dressed, spend time with family and attend church.  She was a faithful member of Trinity Christian Tabernacle Church of Danbury, where she held the title of Church Mother.  Besides overseeing the Deaconess Board, Mother Curtis was committed to attending all of Trinity’s Services, including but not limited to, Monthly Prayer Meeting, Weekly Bible Study, and Weekly Adult Sunday School.

Celebrating Daneller “Mother” Curtis’ home-going, is her sister, Pastor Annette Bush and her Trinity Family, her nine children, Ernest Curtis, Sr. (Carol) of Georgia; Alma Rice of South Carolina; Betty Wells, Diane Tallman (Parker), Susan Curtis, and Fred Curtis (Sonya), of Danbury, CT; Eddie Curtis, Bruce Curtis and Lonnie Curtis (Brenda) of Waterbury, CT; a daughter in law, Debbie Curtis of Bridgeport; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Curtis was predeceased by a son, William Curtis, Jr. and by two brothers, Edward Davis and Blanch Davis.

Loved by many and will be missed by all, Daneller Curtis let it be known through conversation and deeds, that she loved God and that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior.

The Home-Going Celebration of Daneller Davis Curtis will take place on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 12 noon in the Trinity Christian Tabernacle Church, 91 Elm St., Danbury.

Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received at Trinity Christian Tabernacle Church on Friday after 11 a.m.
