Jennifer CoronaJennifer F. Corona, 78, of Bethel, wife of the late Ronald L. Corona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 surrounded by loving family at the Regional Hospice Center for Comfort Care and Healing in Danbury.

Jennifer was born January 9, 1939 in Greenbelt, Maryland, daughter of the late Donald Vincent Coale, a Baltimore artist and Frances Julia (Cook) Coale, also an artist.

Jennifer is survived by her beloved and devoted children; Julie Welch of Bethel, Rebecca Ciferri of Danbury and Mark Ciferri of Ridgefield; her adored grandchildren Matthew Ciferri of Washington D.C. and Olivia Ciferri of Austin, Texas; a sister, Martha Glenn and her husband Tad of Baltimore, Maryland; a brother John Coale of Baltimore, Maryland and sister Heather Coale of New Prague, Minnesota.

In New York City, as a young girl, Jennifer started dance classes at the world famous American School of Ballet, headed by the great dancer-choreographer George Balanchine, known as the ‘Father of American Ballet’.  She was an exceptionally gifted dancer and maintained her interest in it for many years and later she went on to the Carnegie Hall Ballet School.  She also loved Shakespeare, volunteering at the newly formed Shakespeare in the Park.

Moving from New York City to Millbrook, NY, Jennifer settled in to small town life where her greatest joy began – being a mother to Julie, Rebecca and Mark.  Her family was her passion, always providing unconditional love, encouragement and support to her children and grandchildren.

An area resident since 1976, Jennifer began her career at a local bank which led her to The Holiday Inn in Danbury where she ultimately completed a successful career of 30 years as Controller.  She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church of Danbury and a dedicated volunteer and active member of the Legion of Mary, an association of Catholics who serve the church and community, where she spent countless hours providing prayers and compassion to those in need.
