James A. Chamoures

James A.”Jimmy” Chamoures, 58, of Rancho Mirage, CA, formerly of New Fairfield, died on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his home in Rancho Mirage.

Jimmy was born in Danbury, October 6, 1958, a son of Mercene (Nefores) Chamoures and the late Andrew Chamoures.

He attended New Fairfield schools and the University of Arizona at Tucson.

Upon graduation from the University of Arizona, Jimmy settled in California where he became a publisher of newspapers, telephone directories and magazines and was the owner of the Brentwood Publishing Company.

He was an active Rotarian and a past president of the Milpitas Rotary Club.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, sporting competition and coaching Little League.

In addition to his mother Mercene, Jimmy is survived by a son, Michael J. Chamoures and daughter, Makena Chamoures; a sister, Denise Chamoures; two brothers, Michael Chamoures and John Chamoures; his former wife and best friend, Teri (Beamish) Chamoures and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Rite of Burial will take place on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road (Rt. 39N), Danbury.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.

The family will receive friends at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church on Monday from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.
