Mary E. (Macchiaverna) Canale

Mary E. (Macchiaverna) Canale, 98, of Danbury, wife of the late Joseph E. Canale Jr., passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
Mrs. Canale was born in Buffalo, NY on August 25, 1918; a daughter of the late Michael and Philomena (Ragazzo) Macchiaverna.
A long time Danbury resident, Mrs. Canale was a faithful parishioner of St. Peter Church. She was known for her nurturing, warm heart, her cooking and her hospitality. She was always happiest when people gathered around her table.  
Mrs. Canale is survived by her daughter, Susan Cribari and her husband, William of Bethel. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Jesse Cribari and his wife Saori, Stephanie Kessler and her husband, Adam and a great granddaughter, Addison Rae Kessler. She is also survived by the fiance and daughter of her late son, Joe: Lisa Arconti and daughter, Jessica as well as many nieces and nephews and her loving caregiver, Anna.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Canale was predeceased by her son, Joseph E. Canale III, her brothers, Patrick, Epolio(Al), Anthony, Frank and John as well as her sisters Frances Trocolla and Clara DeFazio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Church; 121 Main Street, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received on Friday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 AM at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury.
Memorial donations may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut.
