Louis M. Alosco, MD

Louis M. Alosco, MD, 88, of Danbury, husband of Alberta (Delco) Alosco, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. 
Dr. Alosco was born in Harlem, NY, son of Mario and Elisa (Lambiase) Alosco. He attended New York schools, Cardinal Hayes High School, Long Island University and graduated from the University of Rome Medical School. 
He completed his residency at the Jacobi Medical Center of New York and established his pediatric medical practice in the Bronx, NY in 1960. He was a medical staff member of Montefiore Hospital. Dr. Alosco was also an attending physician at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. 
Dr. Alosco maintained his practice for forty years until 2000. Upon his retirement he worked part time in a local pediatric practice well into his 80’s. 
A resident of Danbury for the past seventeen years coming from Westchester County, NY, Dr. Alosco was a former member of the Danbury Board of Education and a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield. 
A person of great compassion, integrity and tenacity, Dr. Alosco’s passion in life were his family and the well-being of the many generations of children that were in his care. He would never turn down a game of Pinochle. We will all miss him but never lose the impact he had on our lives. 
In addition to his wife of sixty-five years, Dr. Alosco is survived by two daughters, Elisa Vickers and her husband Rob, Virginia Alosco Werner; three sons, Mario Alosco and his wife Sharon, Louis Alosco MD and his wife Ana of Westerly, RI and Thomas Alosco MD and his wife Lori; 9 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 
In addition to his parents, Dr. Alosco was predeceased by a son in law, Dr. Gerard Werner. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11 am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield
Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. 
There will be no calling hours.
