William P. Walsh, known to everyone as Bill, passed away at Danbury Hospital on \

After graduate school, Bill moved to Milwaukee, WI, where he met and married Marcia. They moved to Minneapolis, MN, where they had three children, and subsequently moved to Redding in 1985. Bill had a successful career in the insurance and reinsurance industries, with his last professional position beforeretiring being Director of Insurance Operations at Stone Point Capital, LLC.

Bill enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, and bicycling. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, and was active in the Georgetown Lion’s Club.

Bill also served as a volunteer at the Mark Twain Library Book Fair and WSHU fundraisers. Bill maintained his personality, intellect, and spirit during his too brief battle with cancer. He spent his last weeks surrounded by family and friends. Bill was predeceased by his mother Mary, his father William F., and his brother Philip.

Bill is survived by his wife Marcia; his son William E. and his wife Lisa of New York, NY;
his son Christopher and his wife Robyn of Monroe, CT; and his daughter Suzanne and her husband James and their daughters Thalia and Caitlyn of Allen, TX.

He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Linda, Josephine, and Delores; many nieces and nephews; and four grand­schnauzers, Rosco, GusGus, Lulu, and Olive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church; 30 Church Street, Georgetown.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his name be made to the American Cancer Society
