Arnold C. Schulze

Arnold C. Schulze, 82, a lifelong Danbury resident, died on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Gardens Assisted Living of Danbury.

Mr. Schulze was born in Danbury, March 14, 1934, a son of the late Arnold C. and Emma (Gratz) Schulze. He attended Danbury schools and graduated Danbury High School with the Class of 1951.

He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1953 attaining the rank of Airman First Class and being honorably discharged from active duty in 1957.

Upon his discharge from the U.S. Air Force, Arnie attended and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautics University and was employed with the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation of Stratford as an aeronautical engineer retiring in 2002 after forty five years of service.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the great outdoors.

Mr. Schulze is survived by a brother, Roy Schulze; a nephew, Michael Schulze; a niece, Celeste Ruggiero and her children, Alexa and Jake.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Schulze was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Howard Schulze.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 12 noon in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury with Pastor Walt Harper of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danbury officiating.

Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:45 am to 11:45 am.

The family would like to recognize and thank everyone at The Gardens for their caring and compassion, his friend and caregiver James and to the amazing staff of Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT.
