Cindy D. Palanzo

Cindy Palanzo Cynthia “Cindy” (Ruopp) Palanzo, 52, of Danbury, wife of Roger A. Palanzo, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2016 after a long struggle with ovarian cancer.

Cindy was born in Danbury, on January 28, 1964, a daughter of Frederick Ruopp of Danbury and the late Anita (Berger) Ruopp. Cindy attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Danbury High School where she graduated as a member of the National Honor Society with the Class of 1982.

For over thirteen years, Cindy was employed with Costco of Brookfield and previous to Costco, Big Y and was the owner and pastry chef the former Alpine Pastry Hut of Danbury.

She was former member of the Brookfield Professional Woman’s Club where she was awarded” Business Woman of the Year”, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish of Danbury, its Ladies Guild and Youth Group volunteer and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danbury.

Cindy enjoyed first and foremost her family. She also enjoyed gardening, the ocean, baking, reading, ice skating, travel and just being outdoors.

She will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to her husband, Roger of thirty-three years and father, Frederick Ruopp and his wife, Elsie Fitze-Ruopp, Cindy is survived by a son, Roger A. Palanzo, Jr. of Danbury; two sisters, Rachael Williams of Danbury and Loretta Fox and her husband, Lloyd of Brookfield; three brothers, Dennis Ruopp and his wife, Caprice of Danbury, Stephen Ruopp and his wife, Diana of Norfolk, CT and Andrew Ruopp of Danbury; two sisters in law, Dr. Mary Cronin and her husband, Richard of Danbury and Donna Moran of Danbury; two brothers in law, Paul Palanzo and his wife, Sharon of Danbury and Dominic Palanzo, Jr. and his wife, Regina of Waterbury and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her mother, Anita, Cindy was predeceased by a brother, Walter Ruopp, her father in law and mother in law, Dominic and Michelina Palanzo and by two brothers in law, Robert Williams and William Moran.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury with Pastor Walt Harper officiating.

Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury on Thursday, February 25th from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
