Anita L. Mazza

Anita (Yamin) Mazza, 68, of Danbury died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

Anita was born in Danbury, October 9, 1947. A daughter of the late Edward G. and Adele (Abdella) Yamin, she attended Danbury Schools and graduated with the Class of 1966.

A lifelong Danbury resident, Mrs. Mazza was a former telephone answering service operator and a cashier with Stop and Shop, Mill Plain Road, Danbury.

She was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Parish of Danbury.

Anita loved music, sang with many area bands in the 60’s and 70’s and loved animals. She will be sorely missed.

A daughter, Lorelle Mazza of Danbury; a sister, Cheryl Mezzoni and her husband, John of Milford and their children, John and Rachel; sister in law, Elaine Yamin of Sandy Hook and several aunts, uncles and cousins survive her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mazza was predeceased by a brother, George Yamin.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Naji J. Kirwan officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
