Alyce M. Hondron

Alyce M. Hondron, age 87 of Danbury, died peacefully on Friday, January 29,2016 at the Western Rehabilitation Care Center, Danbury.

Alyce was born in Danbury on February 25,1928, a daughter of the late George N. and Efterpe “Ethel” (Vanellis) Hondron. She attended Danbury schools and was a graduate of Danbury High School with the Class of 1946.

Alyce was a retired travel agent with the Holton Travel Agency of Danbury,

Together with her sister, Anne, they enjoyed traveling the world. She also adored her beloved cats and dogs.

Alyce was a dedicated member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Danbury, its choir and Senior Club.

In addition to her beloved sister Anne Hondron of Danbury, two nephews, William Mentavlos of Columbus, Ohio and George Mentavlos of Clearwater, Florida; two grand nephews , Nicholas and Alex Mentavlos of Clearwater.; and cousins in America and Greece survive.

In addition to her parents, she was pre deceased by her sister, Sappho (Lula) Mentavlos, and her brother-in-law, Theordore Mentavlos.

The Rite of Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
