Evo Falcinelli

Evo FalcinelliEvo Falcinelli, 86, of Ridgefield, husband of Irene (Salvestrini) Falcinelli, died on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Danbury Hospital.

Born in Danbury, November 19, 1929, son of the late Andrea and Franca (Travaglini) Falcinelli and raised in Ridgefield, Mr. Falcinelli attended Ridgefield schools and graduated from Ridgefield High School with the Class of 1949.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the 963 Field Artillery of the 43rd Infantry Division.

In early years, Mr. Falcinelli was employed with the former Marcus Dairy of Danbury and was a caretaker on the Hoffman Estate of South Salem, NY. In 1965, he became a member of the Ridgefield Fire Department and retired in 1991.

Mr. Falcinelli was a member of the Italian Mutual Aid Society, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus, an Honorary Life Member of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Dept. and St. Mary’s Parish, all of Ridgefield.

He enjoyed cooking and gardening.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mr. Falcinelli is survived by a son, Evo “EJ” Falcinelli of Danbury; two daughters, Leanne Falcinelli-Stone and her husband, Eric of Washington, CT and Gloria Falcinelli of Redwood City, California; a sister, Serafina Bachar and her husband, John of Danbury; nine grandchildren, Kymberly, Kristen, Scott, Lisa, Isabella, Kayla, Lindsay, Brittany and Andrew; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Marleigh and Lillian as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.

Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
