Louis J. Anrico Jr.

Louis J. Anrico Jr, age 72 of Ridgefield passed away Tuesday February 9th, 2016 at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Norwalk, CT; a son of Louis Anrico Sr. and Lucille Brown Anrico. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Margot Riccio Anrico, son Louis Anrico 3rd of Ridgefield, CT; daughter Marla Anrico Swanson and her husband Neil Swanson of Saratoga, NY; sister Linda Putnocky and her husband Roger Putnocky of Richmond, VA; Aunt Shirley Jackonice of Wilton, CT; brother in law Frank Riccio of Norwalk, CT; sister in law Sharon Riccio Henry and her husband Marcel Henry of Menton, France as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Lou grew up in Norwalk, CT and worked at his father’s Sunoco station in Darien as a young man before getting married to his wife, Margot in 1967. The couple moved to Ridgefield in 1973 where they started a family. Lou had a successful career as a senior mechanical design engineer for over 30 years before enjoying his early retirement.

He was a lifelong avid fisherman and outdoorsman. During his retirement he shared his knowledge with the community by working part-time at Valley Angler Tackle Shop in Danbury, CT. He loved fishing for Trout, Salmon and Steelhead and he was an expert Fly Fisherman. He was lucky enough to spend 15 years of retirement doing what he truly loved, enjoying time on the rivers and lakes of CT and NY with his son and many friends.

Lou also loved cars and owned 2 Corvettes in his life, one at 19 and another at 70. He was a true “Gearhead” who could tell you anything you wanted to know about classic cars. Fishing and cars were his passions, but most of all he cherished spending quality time with his family. He was a man of great character and integrity, whose infectious humor spread joy to everyone around him. Lou was wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield. Friends will be received on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2 to 5 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of one’s choice.
