Merton “Red” Wilmot

Red WilmotMerton “Red” Wilmot, 74, of Middletown, CT, formerly of Danbury, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, Middletown, CT.

Red was the husband of Nancy Redman.

Mr. Wilmot was born in Danbury, February 15, 1941, attended Danbury schools and was employed for many years with the Novella family in their refuse and scrap metal operations.

A resident of Middletown for the past three years, Mr. Wilmot was a former parishioner of St. Peter Parish, Danbury.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by a daughter, Sally Redman of Middletown, CT; a son, Karl Redman of Bethel, CT; two grandchildren, Jack Redman and Rachell Redman and a great grandson, Julius Colon.

Mr. Wilmot was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Redman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter R.C. Church, 121 Main St., Danbury.

Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
