Dallas A. Vondle

Dallas A. Vondle, 69, of 9 Birch Trail, Danbury, husband of Noreen T. (D’Aiuto) Vondle, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Danbury Hospital after being stricken ill at home.

Mr. Vondle was born in Norwalk, CT, August 15, 1945, son of the late George L. and Marjorie (O’Neill) Vondle and resided with his parents in Sherman where he attended Sherman schools and graduated from Schaghticoke High School, New Milford, in the Class of 1963.

A Vietnam Era U.S. Navy veteran, Dallas served aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid. Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he was employed with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company of California until he returned back to Connecticut.

In 1973, Dallas was appointed as a patrolman with the Danbury Police Department. He retired in 2000 after twenty seven years of service with the department.

A Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of several area riding clubs and was a collector of American Cultural Artifacts.

In addition to his wife Noreen of forty years, he is survived by two sons, David Vondle and his wife, Tricia of Alexandria, VA and Morgan Vondle and his wife, Kristine of Danbury; two grandchildren, Ava and Laila and by a brother in law, George D’Aiuto and his wife, Janice of Sandy Hook, CT.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 P.M. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Interment will take place at the direction of the family (cremation).

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Saturday after 1 P.M.
