William R. Turgeon, Jr.

William "Bill" Roy Turgeon, Jr.  age 85 of Ridgefield, beloved husband of Merrietta “Rita” (Eden) Turgeon, died at his home on Thursday, October 29, 2015, following a 20-year battle with Parkinson disease.

Mr. Turgeon was born in Chicago, IL, January 6, 1931, to William R. and Edith Mary (Skinner) Turgeon.  Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, he attended local schools and met Rita there in the early 60’s.  They were  married fifty-three years ago in Deerfield, IL.  During their long marriage,  they have resided in Nortbbrook, IL., on Long Island, and have been residents of Ridgefield since 1988.

A  U.S. Army veteran,  Bill was employed at Sky Harbor Airport in Northbrook, IL. and at Poe’s Camera of Evanston, IL. prior to moving to Long Island.

Bill had a deep love for photography, music, and reading.  Additionally, he was adept at building and fixing things around the house, and enjoyed the company of dogs; most especially springer spaniels.

In addition to his wife Rita, Mr. Turgeon is survived by a brother, Terry Turgeon and his wife Diana of Menasha, Wisconsin and two nephews.

Funeral services are private and at the direction of the family.
