Clifford W. Sloat

Clifford W. Sloat, 84, of Ridgefield; passed away on Wednesday evening, February 18, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Mrs. Geraldine E. (Jones) Sloat.

Clifford was born in September 25, 1930 in Greenwich; a son of the late Leon and Margaret (Clark) Sloat.

He was a resident of Ridgefield for the past 50 years and worked as a TV service and communication repairman.

Clifford was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed NASCAR, skiing and snowmobiling.

In addition to Geraldine, his wife of 64 years, Clifford is survived by three daughters: Beverly (Richard) Atkinson of Ft. Lauderdale; Robin Sloat of Danbury and Cynthia (Dan) Casazza-Rader of Katonah.

Clifford is also survived by four grandchildren: Jennifer Atkinson-McGahey, Matthew Casazza Allison Casazza and Daniel Casazza; two great grandchildren: Abigail McGahey and Audrey Casazza; and by his twin sister, Doris (Sloat) Balk of Northfield, MA and her family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 am at the Ridgefield Baptist Church; 325 Danbury Road, Ridgefield.

There will be no calling hours, interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider taking someone bowling, as it was one of Clifford’s favorite things to do.
