Dorothy F. Grana

Dorothy Grana Mrs. Grana was born on March 15, 1927 in Danbury; a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Koziar) Dratch. She was a lifelong Danbury and Bethel resident. She was a cafeteria worker at many schools in the area.

Mrs. Grana was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Danbury. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Altar Society and a member of the Golden Dome Bakers. She was also a founding member of the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Joseph P. Grana and his wife, Sandy of Danbury; Stephen M. Grana and his wife, Nomita of Bethel and Virginia G. Zagaja and her husband Dr. Gregory Zagaja of Chicago.

Mrs. Grana is also survived by six grandchildren: Stephen Grana Jr., Shawn Grana, Mia Zagaja, Erica Zagaja, Ciara Zagaja and William Jenkins as well as seven great grandchildren: Jeremiah, Xavier, Hazel, Jayce, Bailey, Paige and Grace.

In addition to her children, grand children and great grand children, Mrs. Grana is survived by a brother; Theodore Dratch of New Milford and two sisters; Ann Meyerholz of New Milford and Irene Hanna of Danbury.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Grana was predeceased by her sisters Mary Baldelliof Danbury, Katherine Patella of New Orleans and by her brother Stephen Dratch of Danbury.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church; 13 Pembroke Road, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received at the Church on Friday morning from 9 to 9:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church; Danbury or the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department; Bethel.
