John P. Gargiulo

John GargiuloJohn P. Gargiulo, 88, of North Salem, NY; beloved husband of Mrs. Phyllis (Cotoia) Gargiulo, peacefully passed away on Friday evening March 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

After a brief service in the U.S. Navy during World War II he began his longtime successful career in Insurance sales and financial planning. His faith and love of God awakened him to become a biblical scholar as well as an accomplished teacher and orator of God's Sacred Word and spiritual teachings. His ministry spanned 35+ years which started by teaching God's Word and Spirit to his clients and all he met in his work as an insurance salesman and continued through current day. He is loved and beloved by family, friends and by many whose lives he touched with his ministry in the NYC, Westchester, Putnam, NY and Fairfield, Connecticut County areas. In addition, he was a long time North Salem School Board Member, as well as, a long time community and faith based activist.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis. His four loving children, Rev. Patricia M. Santoro, Denise Keller, John P. Gargiulo, Jr. and Cynthia Gargiulo; son-in-law Jim Keller and daughter-in-law, Nancy Gargiulo and four beloved grandchildren, Alyse & Jana Keller and John Patrick III & Emma Gargiulo; his sister, Francis Fucci as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Harry, Caroline, Millie and Charlie.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 pm and from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. James Episcopal Church; 296 Titicus Road, North Salem, NY.

Interment will follow in June Cemetery, North Salem, NY.
