Betty Jane Rotherforth Fish

betty Jane RotherfordFishBetty Jane Rotherforth Fish, 89, of Ridgefield, passed away on February 2, 2015 surrounded by her family at the Laurel Ridge Health Care Center.

Betty was born on October 2, 1925 in Danbury; a daughter of the late Lester and Ada (Smith) Rotherforth.

She attended Ridgefield schools and had lived in Ridgefield and Brookfield for many years. Betty was the manager of the Triple S Redemption Center in Danbury.

She was also known for her “green thumb” and took pride in her indoor and outdoor gardens; especially her beautiful roses. Betty was an avid reader and a wonderful and resourceful cook.

Betty is survived by three sons: Ronald Martin Fish and his wife Deborah of Woodbury, CT, Robin Michael Fish and his wife Carol of Foster, RI and Royal Mason Fish of Valparaiso, FL.

She is also survived by two sisters: Jeanne Rotherforth Schutt, wife of the late Vincent L. Schutt, of Satellite Beach, FL and Ann Rotherforth Roy, wife of Ian Roy, of Jupiter, FL.

In addition to her children, Betty is survived by eight grandchildren: Dawn Nancy Fish Popolizio of East Hartford, CT, Jennifer Lee Fish Kaiser and her husband Timothy of Woodbury, CT, Katharine Olivia Fish Falotico and her husband Mauro of Oakville, CT, Royal Mason Fish, Jr. and his wife Julie, of Moyock, NC, David MacKenzie Fish of Woodbury, CT, Dayna Marie Fish Carlson and her husband Kevin of Port Orchard, WA, Maxwell Clayton Fish of Cranston, RI, and Richard Mitchell Fish of Port Orchard, WA; as well as fourteen great-grandchildren: Anthony James Popolizio, Rachel Marie Popolizio, Amara Maria Anicia Falotico, Gianna Antonia Falotico, Hannah Ruth Falotico, Samuel Clayton Falotico, Luke Alexander Fish, Royal Mason Fish, III, Karisa Nicole Fish, Gavin Bray Carlson, Kayden Anne Carlson, Caleb Patrick Carlson, Roman Minor Fish and Lilyanne Marie Fish; predeceased by Nolan Mason Carlson.

She was predeceased by two sons; Richard Minor Fish, Jr. and Randall Major Fish. She was also predeceased by a brother, Lester H. Rotherforth, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 12 noon at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

Friends will be received from 11 am until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
