William Farmer

William "Billy" Farmer passed away on July 25, 2015 at Danbury Hospital.

Billy was born on December 4, 1957 to Laura (Farmer) Coles and Benjamin Roosevelt Moore in Danbury, CT. Billy lived all of his life in the Danbury area, where he worked for Sealed Air Corporation and the State of Connecticut for many years.

Billy accepted Christ in his life and was a member of Mount Pleasant A.M.E Zion Church. He loved all of his family but loved no one more than his sisters, his grandchildren, and his dogs. - They were his "heart" and they kept him going everyday.

Billy played and coached basketball and loved all kinds of sports especially the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. He loved racing and fast cars. He was quite a social butterfly and no one ever had a bad word to say about him.

Billy was predeceased by his mother, Laura Ann (Farmer) Coles, father, Benjamin Roosevelt Moore, stepfather, Eugene Coles, and grandparents, Susie (Hamlett) Farmer and Clarence Farmer, Sr.

Billy's presence reached far and wide and he was a member of several families.

In the Farmer Family, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Sarah Farmer of Danbury, CT, his sons, Quinzell W. Barnes (Angela), Darnell Barnes (Joanne) both of Danbury, CT, and Brandon Harris (Stephanie) of Vicenza, Italy; his sisters, Isabel Miller (Donald), Dawn Coles, , Eugene Coles, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Martin Coles of Norwich, CT, three very close cousins who were raised as his brothers, Russell Farmer of Waterbury, CT, Johnny Ray "Sweets" Farmer, Newington, CT and Eric Farmer of Brentwood, CA; two aunts, Barbara Raith (Robert), of Brunswick, GA, and Carol Farmer of Brookfield, CT; the mothers of his children, Gloria Barnes and Sue Farmer of Danbury, CT, and 9 grandchildren.

In the Moore Family he leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Daisy Loretta Moore, Angie Moore, and Lisa Moore all of Waterbury, CT; his brothers Douglas Moore (Donna) and Larry Moore, of Danbury, CT and Benjamin Troy Moore of NC.

In the King Family he leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Ronnette King, and Sharese King all of Danbury, CT.

Billy also leaves a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10 am at Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church; 69 Rowan Street, Danbury. Friends will be received at the church beginning at 9 am. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury.
