Edward R. Cumm

Edward CummEdward R. Cumm, 75, of Danbury, husband of Aida (Parente) Cumm, died on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 14, 1940 to Veronica ( nee Schoepp) and Edward V. Cumm , he was raised in the Bronx where he attended local schools and later Pace University.

He was a retired route salesman for the Continental Baking Company. A position he held for thirty-seven years.

A resident of Danbury for the past forty-two years coming from Westchester County, NY, Mr. Cumm was a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish of Danbury.

In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, Mr. Cumm is survived by his son, Chris and his wife, Alison and their children, Sienna and Melina; sisters in law, Marie Lindsay and Karen Maresca; aunts, Violet Schoepp and Helen Gerstenlauer; nieces, Lisa Camoia and Janet Lindsay; as well as cousins and dear friends.

He will be sorely missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury.

Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
