Theresa M. Colloton

Theresa CollontonTheresa M. Colloton of Ridgefield, CT, formerly of Larchmont, NY, died on July 5, 2015.

She is predeceased by her husband, J. Edmund Colloton, Jr., her son, Christopher, her sisters, Helen M. Jennings and Mary E. Noyer and her brother, Patrick T. McLoughlin. 

Theresa was born in Riverdale, NY in 1933 to Delia Hennigan and Patrick McLoughlin. A graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent, she worked for several years at the NY Eye Institute before marrying in 1959. 

Theresa moved with her husband to Larchmont in 1965 where they raised their four children. During the 1970s, she worked for Harvey Picker, the founder of Picker X-ray and served as Co-Chairman of the Murray Avenue PTA with her husband. Theresa was Chair of the Westchester County Rent Guidelines Board during the late 1970s and early 1980s. After that, she worked in a number of positions at the Organized Crime Task Force of New York State and then as a realtor both in Larchmont and in Ridgefield, CT. The Collotons were longtime members of Orienta Beach Club. Theresa was a parishioner of St. John and Paul Church in Larchmont and then St. Mary Parish in Ridgefield. She spent many years in Ridgefield enjoying the programs at Founders Hall.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Brooks (Randall) of Ridgefield, CT and Katharine Komar (John) of Larchmont, NY, two sons, J. Edmund Colloton (Eve) of Mill Valley, CA, and Andrew Colloton of Ivoryton, CT, six grandchildren, and one sister, Catherine Nowicki of Nanuet, NY.

Friends will be received this evening, Tuesday July 7, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 10:15 am at St. Mary’s Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

Interment will be private.

Theresa was loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Founders Hall, 193 Danbury Road; Ridgefield, CT 06877.
