Joseph E. Canale, III

Joseph E. Canale III, age 60, of Danbury, son of Mary (Macchiaverna) Canale and the late Joseph E. Canale, Jr. died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Regional Hospice for Comfort Care and Healing, Danbury.

Joe was born in Danbury, February 23, 1955 and was raised in the same home along with his sister Susan and shared by his late aunt and uncle, Ella and Nathaniel Talarico and his cousins, Bob, Annette and the late Suzette. He attended St. Peter School, Immaculate High School - Class of 1973 and was a member of the State Championship Basketball Team. Joe also attended Mount St. Mary College of Emmetsburg, Maryland.

He was employed with the City of Danbury in the Parks and Recreation Division.

An avid bass fisherman, he enjoyed following Notre Dame University football, NY Yankees and the University of Connecticut Huskies, both the men and women basketball teams.

Additionally, he enjoyed studying history most especially U.S. military history and World War One.

Joe was also known to be an excellent cook. He enjoyed and was best known for his slow cooked ribs.

He was a member of St. Peter Parish of Danbury.

In addition to his mother Mary of Danbury, his sister, Susan Cribari and her husband, William of Bethel, he is survived by his fiancée, Lisa Arconti of Danbury and her daughter, Jessica; nephew, Jesse Cribari ; niece, Stephanie Kessler and her husband, Adam and many first, second and third cousins.

He also leaves behind his pet cat, Colby.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Cemetery Danbury, the Section of the Interment will be section 10, with Father Gregg D. Mecca officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville, Ave., Danbury on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
