Richard Auslander

Waccabuc, NY September 20, 2015 - Richard Auslander, 80, died Sunday while gardening at his Waccabuc home. His career spanned 50 years on Wall Street; he retired from UBS in 2012. He also enjoyed 26 years as an adjunct faculty member in the MBA program at Pace University, White Plains. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Susan McMahon Auslander. He is survived by: Michael Auslander, Ridgefield, CT (Dawn Tranzillo Auslander); Benjamin M. Auslander of Strafford, Pa. (Margaret McBryan Auslander); and a daughter Ruth Ann Auslander, Philadelphia, PA. Seven grandsons: Michael, Kevin and Christopher Auslander of Ridgefield, CT and Thomas, John, Peter and Andrew Auslander of Strafford, PA.

Born in New York City, Richard was the son of Harry and Rosalie Rosenberger Auslander of Far Rockaway. He was a 1957 graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His MBA was from George Washington University, Washington, DC. He served as an Army medic.

Richard was involved in community activities, having served as president of his Hunt Farm neighborhood association and as a volunteer with SCORE; retired executives serving as mentors to budding entrepreneurs. He was a 16-year volunteer referee for American Youth Soccer (AYSO) in Chappaqua and he was also an assistant Little League Baseball Coach.

Visiting for family and friends will be held at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, CT on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 am followed by a Service of Remembrance at 11:30 am. Burial will be at Fair Ridge Cemetery in Chappaqua immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Center of Northern Westchester, Katonah, NY, The Lewisboro Library, South Salem, NY, or the Disabled American Veterans.
