Margaret Andrews

Margaret G. Andrews, 96, of Danbury, died on Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2015 at Hancock Hall, Danbury.

Margaret was born in Danbury, June 10, 1918, a daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Nejame) Andrews. A lifelong Danbury resident,in early years, she was a bookkeeper and secretary of her father’s business, Andrews Market in Wooster Village. She was a member of the Ma-Asser Society, an active member of St. Ann Melkite Church of Danbury and its Ladies Guild.

Margaret was also known by her daily morning presence at the former Marcus Dairy and afternoons at the Danbury Fair Mall.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Shaker and Frieda Smolskis and by her two brothers, George Andrews and Louis Andrews.

The Rite of Burial will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Melkite Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Rd., (Rte. 39N) Danbury with Archimandrite Michael K. Skrocki officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received at St. Ann Melkite Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury on Saturday after 9:00 a.m.

Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Ann Melkite Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
