Charles D. Morehouse

Charles MorehouseCharles David Morehouse, 83, of Danbury, husband of Carolyn (Youngs) Morehouse, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Morehouse was born in Danbury, December 6, 1930, a son of Charles W. and Frieda (McNeil) Morehouse. He attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1948 and attended Danbury State Teachers College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War era.

A retired machinist, he was a long time employee of Sperry Rail Service and National Can Company.

Mr. Morehouse was an avid golfer, bowler, NY Yankee fan, enjoyed reading, especially current events and history and traveling.

Along with his wife Carolyn of sixty-one years, together they traveled throughout the United States.

Mr. Morehouse most especially loved spending time with his family.

He will be sorely missed.

In addition to his wife Carolyn, Mr. Morehouse is survived by a brother, Gordon Morehouse and his wife, Linda of Southbury, CT; five children, Charles David Morehouse, Jr., Robert Morehouse, Nancy Yamin and Susan St. Hilaire all of Danbury and William Morehouse and his wife, Taralee of Zephyrhills, FL; nine grandchildren, Brian and Kyle Morehouse, Jane and Michael Yamin, Kate and Anne St. Hilaire and Skyla, Aaden and Sean Morehouse; nephews, Robert and Andrew and niece Debbie Morehouse and by six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 7 PM in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury with Rev. Carolyn Legg officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, Danbury on Tuesday after 6 PM.
