Paulette Fay (Najam) Cherniske


Paulette Fay (Najam) Cherniske, 63, of Danbury, CT, passed away on May 7, 2014, from complications with COPD and Emphysema.

Paulette was born on August 4, 1950 to her late mother and father, Angela Spano Graul and Joseph Najam. She grew up and lived most of her life in Danbury, CT, attending all Danbury schools and graduating from Danbury High School. She moved to Florida for a few years to be closer to her daughters and grandson, Angel, who she shared a very close bond, but eventually moved back to her home here in Danbury.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dawn (Cherniske) Leslie and her husband Paul (Lakeland, FL); and Donna Cherniske Brunner and her husband Rob; her brother, Bernard Gallo and his wife Margaret; her sister, Maria Beckwith and her husband George (Jensen Beach, FL); and her grandson, Angel Leslie. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will all miss her tremendously. Her daughter, Donna, also from Danbury, assisted her as best she could with the help of the Pope John Paul Rehabilitation and Hospice Center and especially cousins, George and Linda Najam, in her final months of life.

The family will receive friends at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810 on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the hospice center, Life Choice, 4 Oxford Road, Suite E4, Milford, CT 06460.
