Jerry Bush Sr.

Jerry Bush Sr., 93, of Danbury, husband of the late Missionary Mamie L. Bush was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 surrounded by four generations of family.

Mr. Bush was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, September 25, 1921, a son of the late Johnny Bell and Mary Ella (Speed) Bush. A resident of Danbury for the past seventy-two years coming from New Madrid, Missouri, he was a retired construction worker with the George L. Hickey Construction Company of Stamford.

He was a member of The Teamster Laborer’s Union and the New Bethel Church of God in Christ of Danbury, where he was faithfully the handyman for many years. Mr. Bush enjoyed fishing, family outings, and spending time with his family. A friend to all, a stranger to none, he loved life, his family, and his God... and would sing about it any chance he got.

Mr. Bush is survived by a son, Jerry Bush Jr.; four daughters, Ida L. Best, Emma L Boudreaux and her husband, Theophile, Micki L. Fuller and Susan Marie Bush Harris; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bush was predeceased by a grandson, Samuel August Fuller; his brothers, Charlie, William, and Pastor Ruben L. Bush, Sr.; his sisters, Mary Jane, Mary and Clara and sons in law, Elbert Best and Deacon Thelbert J. Harris, Jr and Cylinda Bush.

A Home Going Service for Mr. Bush will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the New Bethel Church of God in Christ, 26 Liberty St., Danbury with Elder Henry N. White, Sr. – Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the New Bethel Church of God in Christ on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Contributions may be made to the Deacon Thelbert Harris Jr. Scholarship Fund at New Bethel Church of God in Christ.
