Patricia L. Whitlock

Patricia L. Whitlock, 67, of Southbury, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, November 26, 2013 at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born in Winchester, CT, October 6, 1946, daughter of Marjorie (Ringwood) Palmer of Southbury, CT and the late Emory Palmer, Jr.

She moved with her family in 1950’s to Sandy Hook, CT where she attended local schools and graduated from Newtown High School.

A retired behavioral health services worker, Pat was employed with the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) at the former Fairfield Hills Hospital and later with the group home program. She retired after twenty five years of employment.

In recent years, she was employed at Stop and Shop Super Market of Southbury.

Pat enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, gardening and her pets.

She enjoyed the time spent with her family and most especially her grandchildren and regarded everyone as being first and foremost. She will be sorely missed.

In addition to her mother, Pat is survived by a son, Todd E (Sara) Palmer of New Fairfield, CT; two daughters, Holly M. (Ernest) Racenet of Merton, WI and Jennifer (Jason Mucci) DeMartino of Woodbury, CT; four brothers, Jody A. (Donna) Palmer of Southbury, CT, Timothy J. (Pamela) Palmer of Roxbury, CT, Emory (Patricia) Palmer III of Washington, CT and Terry Palmer of Naugatuck, CT; two sisters, Robin L. Deming of Southbury, CT and Dawn M. Palmer of Waterbury, CT; five grandchildren, Garrett, Grant, Alec, Olivia and Ella and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Pat was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ava Racenet; a brother, Dennis Palmer and by a sister, Claudia Short.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Ashley Phillips, R.N., niece and cousin for her compassion, care and guidance during this difficult time in their lives.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2 pm in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Saturday after 12 noon.
