Margaret A. Tavella

 

Margaret (Nassif) Tavella, 87, of Danbury, wife of Rocco J. Tavella, died on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Tavella was born in Lawrence, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie (Fadel) Nassif.  She attended Lawrence schools.

A resident of Danbury since 1942, Mrs. Tavella was a retired thirty-five year employee of the Barden Corporation retiring in 1987.

She was a member of the Danbury Senior Center (Elmwood Hall) and St. Gregory the Great Parish.

In addition to her husband of sixty-five years, Mrs. Tavella is survived by three sons, Joseph (Maryann) Tavella of Monroe, Philip (Wendy) Tavella of Newtown and Anthony (Kimberly) Tavella of New Milford, CT; a brother, Namen (Nancy) Nassif of Danbury; two sisters in law, Agnes (George) Lazor of Monroe and Anna Gallo of Trumbull; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tavella was predeceased by a sister, Lorice T. Nassif.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury.

Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Thursday morning from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM.
