Steven C. Osdranus

Steven OsdranusSteven C. Osdranus, 88, of Danbury, husband of Anastasia (Lazandrea) Osdranus, died on Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Osdranus was born in Danbury, April 5, 1924, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Sidoli) Osdranus.  He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School.

A World War Two U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Osdranus was a surgical technician having served from 1943 to 1946.  Honorably discharged, he was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal.

A lifelong Danbury resident, he was employed in the hatting industry and later was employed with Kirk and Matz of Danbury.

A member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Mr. Osdranus was an altar server for many years.

He enjoyed wreath making and painting.

In addition to his wife of fifty years, Mr. Osdranus is survived by a son, Charles Osdranus and his wife, Sylvia; a daughter, Evone Osdranus and her fiancé, David Gowdy; two sisters, Marie Osdranus and Angie Fonseca; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Osdranus was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Osdranus.

The Rite of Burial will take place on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 10 AM in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road with Rev. Nikolas Karloutsos, officiating.

Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury with military honors.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2PM to 5PM.

The Trisagion Service will take place on Sunday at 4 PM.
