Devan J. Nisbet



Devan J. Nisbet, 19, of Danbury, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Danbury Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Great Plain Rd., Danbury earlier that evening.

Devan was born in Danbury, June 8, 1993, a son of Jennifer Nisbet-Watkins of Danbury and Donald Marquis of Panama.  He attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 2011 and was attended Naugatuck Community College.

He was also a salesman with the Sprint store on Federal Road, Danbury.

Devan enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, hockey, animals boating, music and electronics.

He had the biggest heart, he was smart, generous, caring and very funny.  He will be sorely missed.

In addition to his mother of Danbury and father of Panama, Devan is survived by his step-father, Donald Watkins of Danbury; his Godmother, Betsy (Brian) Israel; maternal grandfather, James Nisbet; paternal grandmother, Jean (Jack) Layda; paternal grandfather, Donald Marquis, Sr; maternal great grandmother, Sally Nisbet; paternal grandparents, Joy and Harry Watkins; an aunt, Kristie (Gilbert) DaSilva; an uncle, Chad Marquis and by his fiancée, Katerina P. Cuneo.

Devan was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Carole Nisbet; his maternal great grandfather, Arthur Evans and by his paternal great grandmother, Jean Voytek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 2013 in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury at 10 AM.

Interment will take place at the direction of the family in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM.
