Florence (Dzubak) Maroto

Florence (Dzubak) Maroto, 84, of Danbury, wife of Anthony Maroto passed away peacefully on Monday January 14th, 2012 at the home of her daughter.

Florence was born in Danbury, April 8, 1928 a daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Bordach) Dzubak. She was raised in the “North end section” of Danbury, she attended Danbury schools and Danbury High School.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, bowling and watching UCONN women’s basketball. She especially adored her grandsons and cherished the time spent with her family. Florence was a member of Saint Joseph Church, Danbury.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a son Jon A. Maroto of New York, NY; a daughter Anetra E. Nabozna, and her husband, John of New Fairfield; four grandsons, John Nabozna, 1st Lt. Justin Nabozna USMC, James Nabozna and Jeffrey Nabozna. Two sisters, her twin sister, Margaret Wichman of Newtown, CT and Irene Zurinskas of Green Acres FL; a brother, Robert Dzubak and his wife, Kathleen of Southport, NC. Florence was also predeceased by her six sisters, Mary Bielawski, Ann Dannion, Lillian Bertalovitz, Ethel Wilson, Dorothy Read Betty ,Clark and by her four brothers, Joseph Dzubak, Edward Dzubak, Frank Dzubak and John Dzubak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at 10:00 in St. Joseph Church, Danbury.

Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery at the direction of the family.

At the request of the family there will be private calling hours. Friends and parishioners may pay respects after services.
