Loretta C. Keane

Loretta “Tinker” Keane, 84, of Danbury, wife of the late Thomas V. Keane, died on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Keane was born in Danbury, October 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Mortimer and Grace (Adams) Wood. She attended Danbury schools and Danbury High School.

For over fifty years, Tinker was employed in the food service business as a waitress with the late Fred Najamy at the former American Legion of Danbury, the Danbury Fair and at private catered events. Mrs. Keane worked in years past with her mother as housekeepers and cooks at St. Peter Rectory, Danbury.

Mrs. Keane was a member of St. Peter Parish, Danbury.

She is survived by a son, Kevin M. Keane and his wife, Nancy of Danbury; a granddaughter, Dianna Zaleta of Danbury; a grandson, Kenneth Borer and his wife, Angie of Brookfield; three grandchildren, Kaden, Kenneth and Devin; a “second son” William Mongillo and his wife, Joanne of Brookfield; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Keane was predeceased by a daughter, Karlene M. Borer; a brother, Donald Wood and by a sister, Theresa Melillo.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11:45 am in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury,

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 5 PM to 7 PM.
